Hosting move

by on Jul.19, 2010, under News

It’s the end of an era. We no longer get free hosting off my sister. So I’ve had to fork out for some real hosting. It’s so unfair.

Anyway. We’re still alive. Just.

So what now?

by on Nov.20, 2009, under News

Well it’s been a busy year for us. Well busy by our standards anyway. Lots of gigs all over the place. A few new songs that we’ve invented.  A million un-repeated jams that are destined never to fall on the ears of anyone other than us 4. That’s a shame, there was some really good shit in those jams.

Anyway. We’re going to take a relaxed approach for the time being. Seeing what we can come up with, working more on the creative side of being in a band. I can feel something truly awesome coming from us soon folks. Just give us time to figure it out.

We’ve had several gigs with the great Apollo Ray. And we look forward to playing with them again in the future.

Toodle pip.

Cellar Bar Hangover

by on Aug.19, 2009, under News

Man last night was brilliant! I really enjoyed myself, but the hangover today is a bit iffy. Urk.

Cheater were great again, and we had a little mosh to Apollo Ray playing Killing In The Name Of.

Fun fun fun.

Down Time, oh and a Gig

by on Aug.18, 2009, under News

Sorry the sites been down. We only get 1Gb of bandwidth/month, and we usually teeter on the edge of that by the end of the month. It’s these mp3′s we host ya see. People (ha! search engine robots more like) download them a lot and it hammers the ol’ bandwith a bit.

Anyway! We have a gig this evening. The usual cellar bar jobbie. We’ll be play with Cheetah [I think that's correct spelling, you never know with band names] for the 3rd gig in a row. We must be at the point where we can sing along now: “I’m a loser…”, I like that song.

We’ve been playing around for the set on this one. 2 new songs (if you don’t count us playing them last Thursday at the Grey Hourse in Kingston), a couple of classics. No instrumental introduction and no open view for now.

Cya tonight!

Tim

P.S: I have Cabbage back!

P.P.S: Ah ha! this is why we’re getting lots of hits on our tracks. Check 3rd result down. Damn robots.

Man Down

by on Aug.07, 2009, under News

Cabbage is in for a repair. While tensioning new strings the nut cracked and a bit broke off.

It’s now in the hands of In Tone Music in Sandhurst, waiting for it to be fixed. I asked them to adjust the action while they were at it. We’ll have to see how that goes.

Hopfully we’ll have it back in time for next Thursday, as we’re playing in Kingston.

Cya

Those last couple of gigs

by on Jun.23, 2009, under Gigs, News

They were pretty good. The one at the Cellar bar we had recored. The songs we played well, we played really well. The bad ones…less so.

Al who runs the music nights on Tuesdays does a really good job of recording and mixing, so a big up to him! When I get round to it I’ll post up a song or two from it. Probably Bon Bon, because I like the bass on it and IT’S ALL ABOUT ME! Nah, seriously, we just played it well. Son was a bit of a wreck at the end and that’s my fault. Went into the bridge too early and it messed thnigs up for Keith and James.

The hope and anchor was another fun gig to play. There was another band from Malta playing that were doing a little tour of Europe. Really nice guys and they sounded great. When I can remember what they’re called then I’ll do a little plug to their website.

The fiest band that played that evening were also very good. Sounded a little like Franz Ferdinand and their lead sniger was a spitting image of a younger version of my boss. That’s neither here nor there, but they were entertaining.

Anyway. Soungs up later.

Twitter Feeds

by on May.15, 2009, under News, Songs and Stuff

Hello Everyone!

If you cast your eyes a little to the right, you’ll see two (count them I dare you) Twitter feeds. One for me (Tim) and one for James.

It seems a little tempremental, in that it only seems to catch the tweets about a 3rd of the time. For the record, at time of writing my last update was “Hi. I’m eating a banana”.

Fun fun fun (procrastinating from work too).

Tim

P.S: have a random video of us that I saw on youtube playing fall. That’s actually quite a good song. We should start playing it again.

Bring on the Cabbage!

by on May.11, 2009, under News

The new weapon in my arsenal is a Mark Hoppus Fender Jazz/P bass. Err jazz body, p-bass neck and pickups.

Keeping in line with Mr Hoppus’s naming convention (his main bass is called ‘Lettice’), we are christening this one ‘Cabbage’. That makes the old Yamaha (Tomato) the backup bass.

As it turns out, this bass has been in the band longer than I have. It’s former owner was Hodga, the previous bass players. In fact I remember him playing Open View and I Can’t See Me on it back at the cellar bar.

Welcome back cabbage.

There she blows

In her natural habbitat.

How you know when you (haven't) made it

by on Apr.16, 2009, under Gigs, News

On stage Tuesday night. In a fit of rock and roll Keith smashed a glass. Now THAT, is rock and roll!

What wasn’t quite so good was Keith them having to get a dustpan and brush to clean up after himself. It’s a good job he didn’t drive a car into a pool. We’d have been there all night.
